Traditionally, bedding is made out of fabric that’s been dyed, cut and then sewn together. But with garment-dyeing, it’s reversed: The Quilt Cover and Pillowcases are fully sewn together and then dyed — which is why you’ll notice the thread of the quilting perfectly matches the rest of the fabric. This process is known as over-dyeing.

Over-dyed pieces are like fingerprints — no two are exactly the same. The hills and valleys created by the quilting, and then how each piece sits in the dye bath, means there will be some natural variations in colour.

As part of the process, over-dyed pieces are naturally sandwashed and dried before they find their way to your linen cupboard — which not only helps soften the fabric but also gives it that lived-in look we love. But what is sandwashing you ask? It’s a process of washing a garment (and now sheets) with sand to soften and lightly distress the look of the fabric - meaning your Lenni Quilted looks well-loved and lightly worn-in (not worn out) from night one.
